Major Developments

This weekend we have major developments on the crawling front.  We aren't there yet, but Jackson is finally putting weight on his knees!  Yay!  He got daring enough to go from the sitting position to his hands and knees too!  And if that wasn't enough, he cut his third tooth.  Whew...that's a lot for one weekend!

Check it out!  Almost crawling!

Grandma, Grandpa and Chad came into town for Daddy's birthday!  I love Grandma time!

It's been a while...

It's been a while...and we have to catch up!  Life is picking up as I type this.  We are just trying to find some time to relax and enjoy life!

Last weekend Mommy and Jackson took our very first trip on our own, without Daddy.  We managed pretty well!  Daddy had a guys weekend and we went home to Huntsville for a long weekend.  We had a great time!  We got to see lots of family and friends!  It was such a great weekend!

I got a Valentine!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

This Valentine's day is a very special one since we have one more person to spend it with!  Jackson gave me the sweetest thing I could ever receive.  Eric and I were sitting on the couch while Jackson played.  He was babbling, as usual, but the words "Ma-ma" came out of his mouth.  Eric and I looked at him, then looked at each other, so I know it was not in my imagination.  This is so special since he has been babbling "Da-da" for months.  I know he doesn't really know what he said, but it sure makes a Mom feel special!

We hope everyone enjoys this day of love!

Shhh...don't tell my Grandmas!

8 Months!

Jackson is 8 months old already.  In just a few short months we will be celebrating 1 year!  I know, I am getting ahead of myself, but time sure is flying!

Still no crawling.  He doesn't quite realize he can put weight on his knees, though it is quite a bit of weight.  We don't know how much he weighs, but we know he has grown, both in height and weight.  Since he was just over 20 lbs last doctor's visit, I am guesstimating that he weighs around 23-24 lbs.  He is a BIG, but proportionate, boy.  Anyways, back to crawling.  He does seem to go backwards sometimes.  And it looks like he is trying to butt-scoot around.  The clear favorite is standing.  He will even take a few assisted steps, forwards or backwards.  He may just go straight to walking.

He has started the older infant class at day care and comes home completely pooped out.  Most nights he is in bed by 7, which is sad for Mommy and Daddy, but nice because it gives us freedom to get things done or just relax.  Most of the time we end up on the relaxing end. :)

Hope everyone is having a good week!  The Deahl household is steadily getting over this round of colds, but we are almost there!

8 Months!

Another weekend, more Grandparents!

This weekend we got a visit from Papa, Mimi and Aunt Ashley!  How lucky are we that we got to see both sets of grandparents in two weekends?!?  We know Jackson was loving it!  They arrived Friday night, just in time for bath time!  Saturday, Jackson got to go shopping with the ladies while the boys golfed.  One of these days, Jackson will be able to do the manly things.  Sunday, we played and played until everyone had to go home.  We had a wonderful weekend and can't wait for more visits!

Check out my cool new hat!
