Four Years of Marital Bliss!

Four years ago today, Eric and I got married.  I cannot believe it has been 4 years already.  Time has completely flown by!  We have had an amazing 4 years together and we cannot wait to see what wonderful things the future holds!

Our wedding was the best day of my life!  We were surrounded by amazing friends in a beautiful setting.  I wish that we could go re-live that night!  Everything about it was perfect.

As we wait for our first son to be born, we cannot help but think how lucky we have been.  This time last year, we took an anniversary trip to Hawaii.  It was a fabulous trip.  It was on that trip, that we decided we wanted to add to our family.  We had talked about it for a while and decided to start trying when we returned from Hawaii.  Little did we know that one year later, we would be anticipating the arrival of our little one.

38 Weeks!

Holy cow!  38 Weeks and I'm huge! :)  We are just waiting for LBD to make his entrance.  We finished buying and organizing everything this weekend.  We are officially ready, or as ready as we will ever be!  This week, my body has taken "swollen" to a whole new level.  My feet are now permanently swollen.  I even feel like my calves and knees are really swollen too.  LBD is definitely lower.  I feel a lot more pressure on my pelvis this week.  I am also starting to get a feel for LBD's size.  He has been really active this week and his jabs are now borderline painful!  I thought he was going to just punch or kick his way out!

We are looking forward to the long weekend and hopefully we will have good weather.  I've been dying to get in the pool!  I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and be safe!

Oh, and I forgot to post this last week.  We are officially in month 9 and LBD is the size of a watermelon!  He has made it to the last fruit!

Nursery Reveal!

Here it is!  We finally put the finishing touches on the nursery this weekend!  We are so happy with how everything turned out.  Now...there is only one thing missing...

Beware of picture overload!

Cute mobile!

Custom drapes made by Mrs. Deahl, as well.

37 Weeks! Full Term!

We made it to full term! Woohoo!  This means LBD can come any time he wants, so we are officially on baby watch!  Yes, I know I am not technically for three more weeks, and he can come anywhere between 37 and 42 weeks, but we are hoping he wants to be a little early. :)  Maybe not this week, but next week is fair game!  Did you hear that Jackson?!?

We went to the doctor this past Friday for our weekly visit.  We also had a growth ultrasound, since the doctor thinks LBD is on the large side.  As of 36 weeks 2 days, our little one is measuring 7 lbs. 2 oz.  He is a bit on the big side, but those scans can be off.  He will probably gain about a half a pound a week from this point on.  We are scheduled for another scan at 39 weeks.  It was so crazy to see how he has grown.  It's obvious from the outside that he has grown a ton since the last scan, but he looks huge on the ultrasound compared to last time.  You can only see bits and pieces of him at a time!  Here is a picture of our little guy:

I promise a nursery reveal this weekend!  We have had so much to do, that the final little details have taken a while to put together.

36 Weeks!

How far along: 36 Weeks
Maternity clothes? Yes.
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep? Sleep has been hard to come by this week.  I've had a cold and ear infection all week, so sleep has been awful!  I hope I can make up for it soon.
Best moment last week?  Seeing our close friends, Trey and Brandy, get married.
Least favorite moment last week? Cold and ear infection.  Enough said...
Movement? He's still moving like crazy.
Food cravings? Ice cream!!
Gender? Boy
Labor signs? Not really, but last night and today I have had LOTS of Braxton Hicks contractions.  I have had maybe 2-3 Braxton Hicks contractions up to this point.  It probably means nothing, but we will find out at my doctors appointment on Friday.
Belly button in/out? Still in.
What I miss? Sleeping on my stomach!
What I am looking forward to:  My 36 week appointment is this Friday.  I am going to have a Strep B test and a progress check.  We also have an ultrasound to check on LBD's size.  I can't wait to see little Jackson!  It has been so long since we've seen him.  I will definitely make sure to update!

Oh...and I plan to have the nursery completely finished and organized this weekend.  I can't wait to show you guys!  It is such a cute little space!

Happy Mother's Day!

I know I'm a few days late with this post, but I haven't been feeling all that great.  Mother's Day was Sunday, and this year it has a different meaning.  As I get closer to meeting LBD and becoming a Mommy myself, it makes me appreciate my mom on a whole other level.  My mom has always been there for me, no matter what.  She is always ready to support me and my family in any way she can.  She is the best Mom a girl could dream for!  I love you Mom!

Eric was so sweet this Mother's Day!  He really made me feel really special, even though LBD isn't here yet.  He surprised me with a card and a cupcake (YUM!).  He also gave me a certificate for a photography session for when LBD arrives!  I cannot wait to get some newborn photos of our little man!  It was the perfect gift!

Weekend Happenings

This past weekend, we went to B'ham to see our close friends, Trey and Brandy, get married!  It was such a great weekend.  The wedding was gorgeous and the weather was perfect!  We had an amazing time with them, and we were so happy to be a part of it!
The Happy Couple!

The only bummer this weekend was that I was unable to go see my little sister's graduation.  I was supposed to meet my parents Saturday morning to ride to Tuscaloosa, but Friday night I developed an awful earache!  So instead of getting to see Ashley graduate, I was stuck at an urgent care Saturday morning!  Not fun!  I was so sad to miss it, but I know she understands.  Congratulations Ashley!  We are of proud of you!

35/35 - Another Milestone!

We made it to another milestone: 35 Weeks / 35 Days left!  So crazy!  Please excuse the picture.  I'm not wearing any make-up.  My allergies seem to have gotten the best of me, so I didn't go to work today.  Allergies aren't any fun, but they really aren't fun when you're pregnant!  You can't have any of the good meds!

I went to the doctor last week, and our LBD may not be so little.  The doctor said that our baby feels "substantial."  We are going next Friday for a growth ultrasound.  I can't wait to see our little (or big) man again.  Hopefully, he will be normal size!

The nursery is almost complete!  We got the chair, crib skirt, and curtains this weekend!  I can't wait to put it all together!  I promise to have a finished nursery for you guys to see very soon!

Surprises and a Spoonful of Sugar

This weekend has been a wonderful weekend!  The Deahls came to town and we went to see Mary Poppins Saturday night.  We ate a great meal at Baraonda and saw the night show.  The show was great!  Of course, Mary flew over the audience, but the highlight was Bert tap dancing upside down on the ceiling of the stage.  Here we are outside of the Fox:

Sunday was a complete surprise!  Everyone was in on it, and amazingly enough, everything stayed a surprise!  My besties from college threw me a surprise shower!  Mrs. Deahl took me to get a pedicure, which seems innocent enough.  She's a great little liar :)  When I got home, the house was decorated and the girls popped out from hiding and surprised me!  It was so special, and I, of course, cried.  It was a great afternoon of catching up and I can't begin to thank them enough for making me feel so loved and blessed.  Enjoy some pictures!
