25 Weeks

Wow, one more week down!  We made a lot of progress on the nursery this week.  I haven't been sleeping as well lately since my back has started to hurt a little bit.  I was hoping to get a little farther along before the aches and pains started!  I guess I'm not that lucky.  Let's see what LBD is up to this week:

Let your spouse put an ear to your belly -- he might be able to pick up baby's heartbeat (no stethoscope required). Inside the womb, the formation of tiny capillaries is giving baby a healthy pink glow. Baby's also soaking up your antibodies, getting the immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and baby will soon perfect the blink -- perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes.

 According to this excerpt from The Bump, Eric may be able to hear the heartbeat by putting his ear up to my belly...very strange.  I'll report back once we've tried that.  I would imagine the only noise he will hear is a growling tummy :)

Nursery Progress: Part Two

This weekend, the Deahls came to help us paint the nursery.  It turned out so well!  The paint turned out to be better than I could have imagined!  Thanks so much to the Deahls and their hard work!  Here are the pictures:

24 Weeks = V-Day!

This week marks 24 weeks!  That means it's V-day, or viability day.  That means that should LBD decide he wants to come, he could survive in the outside world.  Now, we will knock on wood so that doesn't happen.  We need him to stay put for 16 more weeks.  It's just nice to hit this milestone!

How far along: 24 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss? Still not talking :)
Maternity clothes? Yes.
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep? I haven't been sleeping great lately.  Even with a pillow in between my legs, I'm starting to have more body aches when I wake up. 
Best moment last week? Eric felt the baby kick! 
Movement? LBD was moving around really well over the weekend, but the last few days I haven't been able to feel him move as much.  Of course, that brings worry!  He was just positioned funny because today he was moving around like a mad man.
Food cravings? No real cravings.
Gender? Boy!
Labor signs? No.
Belly button in/out? In
What I miss? A nice glass of wine
What I am looking forward to: Getting some work done on the nursery.  We should be making some significant progress on it over the next couple of weeks.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day!  Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays.  Eric and I had a low key dinner at home, which was very nice.  I also received a lovely little gift from my Valentine at work on Friday.  :)

Atlanta Snowmageddon 2010

Washington DC has been having all of the fun lately with record breaking snow, but we actually got several inches of snow Friday night.  Unfortunately, with snow comes ice.  I happened to slip on some icy stairs and took a tumble.  Luckily the baby and I are ok, but I have a huge ugly bruise on my bum!  Here are some pics I took Friday night:

Nursery Paint: Stage One

Eric started the painting process this weekend by painting the silver base for our stripes.  Eric's parents will be visiting this weekend to help paint the rest of the nursery.  I can't wait to see the finished product.  I will definitely have lots of pictures to show you next weekend!

23 Weeks!

Here we are at 23 weeks.  Sorry about the picture, but Eric wasn't around to take one for me.  Oh, and notice my new glasses!  I finally got a pair to replace my sad little broken glasses.  And I can actually see out of them!

Nursery Progress!

Our weekends over the next four months are starting to fill up.  We decided we needed to get a move on with the nursery.  Our furniture has arrived, art is ordered, paint has been chosen and we even visited a junk yard this weekend looking for hub caps.  I can't wait to see it all put together!

22 Weeks!

This week I am 22 weeks.  LBD is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb.  And, LBD is starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day!  I will make sure to post some belly pics for you guys tomorrow.

How far along:  22 Weeks 1 Day
Total weight gain/loss? I'd rather not talk about it :)
Maternity clothes? Yes, almost exclusively.  I still have several shirts I can fit into.
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep? I'm still sleeping really well.  Please let it continue!
Best moment last week? Seeing LBD at the anatomy ultrasound.
Movement? I have been feeling lots of movement this week.  I even caught a few kicks from the outside.  At my scan this week, I learned I have an anterior placenta.  This is where the baby implanted towards the front, so the placenta is positioned on the outside of the uterus (fun stuff, I know!)  This isn't any cause for concern, but it does affect when I can feel LBD.  Hopefully, Eric will be able to feel a few kicks very soon.
Food cravings?  No real cravings.
Gender? Boy!
Labor signs? Nope, and lets keep it that way!
Belly button in/out? In-y
What I miss? Sleeping on my stomach!
What I am looking forward to: Eric feeling LBD move and putting together the nursery furniture!  I also have a breastfeeding class this weekend.  I don't know if I should be excited or scared!

Big Ultrasound!

Today, we had our anatomy ultrasound.  We already knew that we were having a little boy, but it was still exciting to see how our peanut has grown.  LBD already weighs 1 lb. 2 oz. and is still measuing a week ahead.  We were able to see all of his major organs.  Our tech was so nice and she answered all of our questions.  He looks perfect!  Here are some pictures from our ultrasound:
