Look Who's.... Walking!!!

Just 6 days before his first birthday Jackson decided it was time to start strolling around the house. Check it out!

Just to make sure it wasn't a fluke, we gave it another shot. He had to battle through it, but was successful yet again. :)

So Lucky

Have I told you lately how lucky we are?  Jackson received visits from BOTH grandparents the past two weekend and Mommy and Daddy received a much needed break!  While we went to the lake one weekend and on a mini anniversary trip, Jackson had a great time spending time with his grandparents!

We feel so blessed that we have caring family who love spending time with our little man so much!  We cannot thank you enough!  We love you and do not know where we would be without you guys!

Happy Mother's Day

I had a wonderful first Mother's Day!  We took the weekend to visit Eric's family in Charlotte.  Jackson got to meet his Great Uncle Eric and Aunt Louise at cousin Erica's graduation.  We stayed with Uncle Joe and Nick and had a great time!  Sunday we went for breakfast and toured downtown Charlotte.  Then we ate lunch at Jim 'n Nicks. Yum!  On the way home we even stopped for some shopping for Mom :)  How could we resist the outlets?  When we got home, I received very special presents from some very special guys.  It was such a special day and I look forward to many more!

On Monday, Jackson got tubes in both ears.  He was such a little trooper.  He didn't get upset that he couldn't have a bottle.  He didn't even get upset when he was waking up from the anesthesia.  He just opened his big blue eyes and grabbed the bottle of juice and the cute little bear he picked out from the toy chest.  All the nurse's said he was the perfect little patient.  We are so thankful that he had a successful procedure because he already had a nasty double ear infection, after only being off the last round of antibiotics for a few days.

All over and doing fine!

11 Months

We are in the final count down to Jackson's first birthday!  Jackson is 11 months old and changing every day!    It seems like he is discovering new things and doing new things to amaze us every day.  Since he has learned to pull up to stand, it is his absolute favorite thing to do.   He loves his new found freedom to explore.  He has also started walking behind his toys and he is actually getting really good at it.  Before we know it he will be off and running. :(  My baby is growing up...

Jackson has 8 teeth now.  He is pretty much completely off baby food.  He weighs a whopping 25 pounds!  We took a visit to the pediatric ENT this week and learned that our little guy will be getting tubes in both ears next week.  Let's hope that it will keep us from going to the pediatrician every week!

Jackson is loving his books right now.  He loves to look and point at the pictures.  He loves to turn the pages.  He also loves to open and close things like doors and lids.  This has parlayed into a love for the dishwasher.  He loves to come roll the bottom drawer in and out and open and close the detergent compartment.  It is so adorable!

A little catching up to do...

We have a lot to catch up on!  It has been a whirl-wind few weeks.  There are a lot of pictures in this edition. I've been taking pictures like crazy to get the perfect picture for J-man's birthday invitation.  Can you believe it?  We have invitations...for a birthday party...his 1st birthday party!  We have had visits from Grandparents, Aunt Ashley and Uncle Chad.  We went to an easter egg hunt and had a visit from the Easter Bunny!  We even took our first family trip to the aquarium!  Jackson loved it.  His favorite were definitely the penguins!

Jackson also had a nasty cold and ran a fever for three days.  Poor baby is still battling ear infections, but we will be seeing a pediatric ENT this week.  Hopefully we can get our little guy back to normal!   He has cut two more teeth, bringing the total to 8.  Jackson can pull himself up to standing and it is all he wants to do right now.

Perhaps the biggest event was the day of destruction in the South.  A huge storm system blew through several states leaving nothing but devastation in its wake.  The hardest hit was Tuscaloosa, our home away from home for 4 wonderful years.  Luckily our family is safe and sound and our family's homes were without damage.  Unfortunately, that is not the case for so many people.  Please keep everyone who was affected by these awful events in your thoughts and prayers.

Having fun with Grandma!
