4 Months

Our sweet girl is 4 months! So hard to believe! She weighs 13 lbs 9 oz. She is 24.5 inches long and her head is 16.75 inches.  She is right on the 50% mark for weight and height and her head circumference is in 90 percentile. It's safe to say that our kids just have big heads :)

I love watching her learn new things. She has started rolling over and can actually "play" with toys now. She is very observant and curious. I can't seem to catch her smiling often because as soon as I pull out the camera, she is instantly curious about the camera. She is still a wiggler. She somehow manages to move all the way down her crib at night while swaddled in her swaddle blanket. She also loves to pick her little legs up and slam them on the mattress while asleep. She wants to sit up so badly because she loves to see what everyone is doing. She loves staring out of windows and being outside. So much to see!

Happy 4 Months!

Big Brother Jackson

I realized that I have become that parent. I have lots of updates of Ms. Adalyn, but it's been a while since I've given updates on Jackson! The J-man is getting so big and so smart. It just amazes me that I can have an actual conversation with him. It also makes me realize how fast time flies! Even more so with two. He is so close to being fully potty trained. He has been in his underwear for a few weeks now and we are going longer between accidents. Without sharing any fun details, we still have a few issues to work out, but we are thankful that he has come this far in such a short amount of time!

Jackson continues to be a great big brother. He is rarely jealous of Adalyn. He mostly just asks that we put her down and play with him. He is anxious to play with her and I can't wait until she is old enough to play with him. He's offering big brother lessons, like "Adalyn, we don't eat our shirts!" (Adalyn has a habit of grabbing the bottom of her dress or shirt and chewing on it.) He likes to practice tummy time with her and reminds us of all the things she can't do because "she's a baby!" He loves to drop her off in her classroom in the morning and pick her up in the afternoon. He carries her bottles into school like the big helper he is. When she cries, he gives her a passy.

Sometimes I wish I can freeze time for just a little bit so I can enjoy this age for a little bit longer before they both grow up in a flash!

Happy 3 Months!

Happy 3 months baby girl! Miss Adalyn is such a sweet and happy little girl. We think she is going to be a mover and a talker! She loves to "talk" and tell you all about it. When you talk to her, it seems like she is trying her hardest to have a conversation. She is smiling and giggling. It is so precious. She is still super wiggly. She is always kicking her legs or trying to move around.

She is much smaller than Jackson was at this age. She can still fit in her 0-3 month clothes, but we have been steadily adding her 3-6 month clothes in. She is going to be so stylish this fall. :) She eats about 24-28 ounces a day. She is super sensitive to noises. Anytime she hears a strange sound or loud noise, her eyes get so big! This is especially a problem since she finally has a friend in her class at school. She's not too sure about him yet.

Can't believe it has been 3 months! Time is flying...if it could only slow down. This mommy is not ready!

12 Weeks a Catching Up

12 Weeks old! I can't believe our little Adalyn is 12 weeks and nearly 3 months old! She is such a joy. It is so fun to see the differences between her and Jackson's personality. I'll probably write a whole post about it!

Missy started sleeping through the night at around 9-ish weeks old. She still occasionally wakes up, but it's usually for her passy. She is a much lighter sleeper than Jackson. It's a good thing she is sleeping because I am officially back at work. I miss my sweet pea during the day. I enjoyed my leave with Adalyn so much. It is hard to leave her, but I feel better knowing she is the only baby in her day care class right now. She gets a lot of one on one attention! She is most certainly particular and she will let you know her preferences. She is a little diva already!

Jackson still loves his little sister. He hasn't shown any signs of jealousy at all. He sings to her when she is upset and tickles her tummy. It is so heartwarming to see them together. It is going to be so fun when she is a little older and they can play together. Jackson is making major strides in the potty training world. We're hoping to be fully trained in the next few weeks. :) That would make Mommy and Daddy's life so much easier to have one out of diapers/pull ups!

Beach Babies!

Before I went back to work, I was hoping to take the kids on vacation. Luckily, Mimi, Papa and Aunt Ashley were thinking the same thing! We all took a fun trip down to Gulf Shores. It was so nice to get away for a little bit. Jackson loved the beach and Adalyn loved napping on the beach! It rained a few times, but that gave us a break from the beach. We shopped, golfed, went out to dinner, played putt putt, rode go karts and played on the beach. Jackson loved throwing shells into the ocean and kicking the water. By the last day, he was swimming in the ocean and he loved it! Papa even took him to hunt crabs one night. Though we didn't keep any for pets, he had a blast!

It was a great getaway. We enjoyed getting to take a trip with the Martin side of the family and we made so many memories!
